My first post could be about a million topics, but I watched an inspirational video on not comparing yourself to others and it got me thinking about some of the struggles I've had trying to maintain a work/life/fitness/fun balance over the past 2 years.

To recap the past 2 years:

- I got married
- I had by beautiful baby girl, Alice (now 14 months)
- I've moved my business, Atlas CrossFit, not once, but TWICE in less than one year
- We have moved our personal home TWICE
- I started a new training gym and concept, CircuitFit
- I am expecting baby #2, in less than 3 months.

Along the way, I've beaten myself up about not keeping up with this or that... always comparing myself to one person or another... "She is still able to balance it all"... "She was doing pullups until she popped that kid out"... "He was able to run his gym and make fitness gains"... the list goes on.  I finally had the realization that I am on my own journey, with my own struggles, my own motivations, my own goals, and I need to start focusing on ME a little more.

Ultimately, as I seem to be in a place where I have sound some serenity, I'm looking for a place to start.  I have all the knowledge in the world and as I've taken on more personal training clients, I feel pretty damn good about being able to help others in their quest to achieve a better, healthier life.  But what about me?  Should I hire a trainer?  Should I start a strength program? Should I work on some domestic organization (nesting I believe it's called:) ?  Should I focus on a super healthy nutrition program for myself and my family?

All of the above has taken a back seat to the chaos that has surrounded me for quite some time.  But isn't fitness and nutrition what defines me?  Ultimately, yes, yes it does.  Learning, applying, testing, and teaching all things fitness is what gets me out of the bed in the morning - it is what I love.  And I intend to get back to where I want to be both personally and professionally with my health and fmy. My family will always take #1, but to be the best for them, I need to be the best for me first.  I believe this is what a lot of women and mothers struggle with as they take on multiple hats.

My advice for anyone wanting to make gains in their health and fitness journey is to take a good look in the mirror and stop comparing themselves to other people.  Live your life and work with what you got.  If you don't got it... be realistic about what you can and can't get.
